In the third part of this tutorial we are starting the configuration process.

The QBrain have multiple configuration parameters but, in this case, we only will see two: teach the QBrain the throttle minimum and maximum values and what type of battery is used.

Configuration

To teach the QBrain what battery we are using follow this steps:

• Turn on the radio, set the throttle to the max and connect the battery to the QBrain;
• Wait two seconds till the QBrain beep twice;
• Wait five seconds til hear a melody.

After this process, the QBrain is on configuration mode beeping multiple types as we change the options (check the QBrain manual here). To configure the battery we need the second option (two short beeps).

When the QBrain send two short beeps, set the throttle to the minimum. When entering on the battery configuration mode, the QBrain will beep once to activate the Lipo option and two beeps to the NiMH option. As our battery is a Lipo one, when the QBrain beeps once, set the throttle to the maximum till sound a melody. This melody indicated that the option is saved. After that set the throttle to the minimum to exit configuration mode.

To configure the throttle minimum and maximum values we do the following steps:

• With the radio and the QBrain off, connect all four motor control plugs to the adapter;
• Connect the adapter plug to the throttle receiver plug;
• Turn on the radio and set throttle to the maximum;
• Connect the battery to the QBrain;
• When the QBrain beep twice set the throttle to the minimum;
• Next, the QBrain beeps three times to indicate that the configuration is saved

After this procedure, the QBrain is ready to fly. The manual indicates, other parameters that can be configured like, safe mode if something fail.
