First, we’re open the Mars 2. Inside the package we have the manual and an accessory box with hex key, pliers for support removal, a plastic and a metal spatula, the power brick, filters for the resin, masks, an usb flash drive, the rubber seal and some gloves. To start working with the printer, we need to install the rubber seal and calibrate the platform.

To do this, we install the platform on is stand and place a paper sheet on the bottom. Unscrew the platform to make it loose and lower it to the printer. When the sheet start coming loose, tight the screws and it’s done. You can check all the detailed steps on Elegoo YouTube Channel (link).

To start printing we’ll use the Chitubox slicer. This comes with a preset for the Elegoo Mars so we don’t need to change the parameters. On the setting we can see the multiple parameters for the preset.

After finish it’s time to go to the Elegoo Mercury Plus

On the Elegoo Mercury Plus box we have some hex keys, the manual, the power adapter, the power cable, the washing stand for the printing platform and the curing platform. Like the printer, the curing station comes assembled and very well protected. Inside this we have the basket for the parts and the washing solution container.

To clean the printed part there’s two options. First, we can plate the printing platform on the washing machine and lower it to the washing solution. The other option is using the basket. This can be used for multiple parts or for very tall parts.

The washing process is simple. We place the container with the Isopropyl Alcohol on the cleaning station and place the print piece inside the container. Next, we choose the cleaning mode, set the timer and start the machine. On both modes, cleaning and curing, the Elegoo Mercury Plus only works with the cover on, for safety reasons.

After the cleaning process we have to let the dry for a while before going to the curing phase.

Next, it’s time for curing the part. For the curing process, we place the curing platform. This platform rotates 360 degrees. The Elegoo Mercury Plus uses UV led to this process. This is also a quick process. This part took about 1 minute to cure.

The curing is a try and error process. With this translucent resin from Elegoo if the part stays to long it starts to turn yellow. The curing process is similar to the washing process. We choose the curing mode, set the timer and start the machine.

Conclusion

The Elegoo Mars 2 is a great printer to have. It’s easy to use, has a great quality and is very silent. It brings all the needed parts and is ready to use out of the box. The Elegoo Mercury Plus is also very easy to work and ready to use out of the box. Is a must have for the post printing process. If you don’t need to print large pieces the Elegoo Mars 2 and the Elegoo Mercury Plus are great acquisitions.
